The Eve Appeal is aiming to raise public awareness of Gynaecological Cancers through their campaign in September.
21,000 women are diagnosed with Gynaecological Cancer each year which includes disease of the womb, ovaries, cervix, vulva and vagina. However, 1 in 5 people cannot name a single sign or symptom of the disease.
The Eve Appeal want to try and break down some of the barriers around Gynaecological Cancer and so there are three key themes to this year’s campaign:
The importance of using correct terms to describe Gynaecological symptoms, cancer and the female body
Talking to young women so they are informed for the future
Getting women to talk openly about what is normal for them
The campaign is also undertaking research among women aged 16-65 during this month.
