Learning and Development
Learning and Development is high on our agenda at Clarke Willmott. Our Investors in People accreditation recognises this and in 2012 we developed our commitment further by launching the Clarke Willmott School of Management. Whilst we continue to develop the learning solutions delivered through the school, our ultimate aim for the school is to deliver excellent services to our clients, win business and maximise profitability.

We are committed to developing an organisational culture which values people from all sections of society and the contribution which each individual can make. In all our offices we wish to see a workforce which reflects the local population and the communities within which we work. We work with a number of organisations whose aim is to encourage students from diverse backgrounds to consider a career in law. One example is our commitment to the College of Law’s programme “Pathways to Law”, offering work experience placements across our offices to school students.

Clarke Willmott takes its corporate responsibility very seriously and as a result has established a team of colleagues to carry out the firm’s commitment and ensure all policies are practiced throughout the business.
Our CR policy is divided in to three areas; our people, the community and the environment. We are fortunate to have a Chief Executive who fully supports our programme and is committed to raising our profile in this area. In addition our offices each support their own chosen charity of the year and a charity committee to maximise fund raising for them.
We encourage everyone to get involved with community or charitable initiatives, whether for our chosen charities or for other organisations.
To support this, the firm allows one day in each financial year to be taken as paid leave when spent on these initiatives – your Community Day.
Examples of our CSR work include:
Providing refugees within the Bristol area the chance to develop and enhance their English language skills through weekly informal conversations held at our offices. Members of staff meet with the refugees and discuss an array of topics such as culture, food etc.
Clarke Willmott are passionate about supporting the needs of pupils and students. Across the firm we offer educational support working alongside charitable organisations who work closely with local schools. Support such as reading buddies, mentoring, mock interviews and CV writing skills are amongst the initiatives our staff members as volunteers get involved in.
Each office has a dedicated charity (in some cases two) which we support on a two year basis. Internal office charity committees organise various fundraising initiatives such as cake sales, raffles, monopoly evenings, race and quiz nights plus regular dress down days.
Social & Sports
We are a social bunch at Clarke Willmott. We have a social committee based in each office that organise a range of events on a monthly basis. These include quiz nights, summer barbecues, Christmas parties and the traditional First Friday of Fun where the partners invite everyone to get away from the office and catch up with colleagues.
In addition, we have various netball, basketball, cricket and football teams which meet on a regular basis and compete in local tournaments.
