Clarke Willmott  has made a raft of internal promotions as part of its commitment to people development, with nine Bristol lawyers included in the announcement.

Three lawyers have been promoted to partner at the Bristol offices including David Stedman, commercial and private client litigation; Laura Robbetts, property litigation and Jacqui Lazare, private capital.

Making the switch from associate to senior associate in Bristol are James Marshall, commercial litigation; Emma Ironside, litigation; Vanessa Harris, clinical negligence and Sophie Bedwell, commercial property.

Also promoted are Rachel Tonkinson in private capital and Henry Russell in property litigation, both making the transition from solicitor to associate.

New CEO of Clarke Willmott, Peter Swinburn, said: “I’m pleased to announce this year’s internal promotions. As always, this is an opportunity to recognise the strength of talent and diversity we have across the firm. It’s a pleasure to see how those being promoted have already stepped up in readiness for their new roles. Our people sit at the centre of our success and the excellent client service we offer. Ensuring their development is fundamental and part of creating a great people experience. The people we promote have all shown the skills, talent and aptitude vital for us to take advantage of future opportunities.”

Alex Jakubowski, head of Clarke Willmott’s Bristol Office, said: “I’m delighted to see our home grown talent making waves in the firm and beyond. Most of this year’s promotions are of lawyers who joined the firm as paralegal, trainees or NQ solicitors. This says a lot and showcases the culture of a firm which gives young lawyers the space to grow and to thrive.”
