Birmingham family lawyer Jordan Spalding has said he is honoured to be part of an upcoming event supporting black men in the legal profession.
Jordan is on the panel of speakers at the Black Men in Law event, taking place on Thursday 25 June, which is hosted by Birmingham Black Lawyers and in partnership with Browne Jacobson and Barclays Bank.
Now in its third year, Black Men in Law forms part of Birmingham Black Lawyers’ ongoing commitment to supporting and inspiring black men who are aspiring lawyers and legal professionals. The event has been widely praised in previous years for creating a welcoming space for open conversation, professional development and meaningful connections within the black legal community.
This year’s theme, “Building Legacy”, will explore leadership, representation, resilience and the lasting impact black men are making across the legal profession. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain practical career insights, hear from experienced legal professionals and build valuable networks with peers and industry leaders.
Jordan has been invited to participate as a panellist in recognition of his journey and experiences as a newly qualified solicitor. Organisers believe his perspective will provide valuable inspiration and guidance to attendees who are considering or beginning careers within the legal profession.
Speaking ahead of the event, Jordan Spalding said: “I am honoured to have been invited to speak at this year’s Black Men in Law event. As someone who has recently qualified as a solicitor, I understand both the challenges and opportunities that aspiring lawyers face. I look forward to sharing my experiences, learning from fellow panellists, and contributing to a conversation that encourages and empowers the next generation of black legal professionals.”
The event continues to play an important role in championing diversity, representation, and inclusion within the legal sector, while celebrating the achievements and contributions of Black men across the profession.
