Top ranking for Clarke Willmott in 2023 Chambers & Partners guide

Once again, Clarke Willmott has been recognised at the highest level in the annual Chambers and Partners Guide.

We are ranked in 29 areas across our seven offices, with seven practice areas achieving a Band 1 ranking.

Our lawyers have been recognised in 67 individual rankings with 13 Band 1 rankings, eight listed as Associate to Watch, and three noted as Up and Coming.

Two of the firm’s regulatory practice areas have been placed highly in the guide which recognises leading firms and legal advisers for high value legal matters, along with new rankings for six individual solicitors.

Retaining their Band 1 ranking are intellectual property in the North West; family/matrimonial in Bristol; and personal injurysocial housingprofessional negligence and agricultural and rural affairs in the South West.

Partner Gareth Schofield retains his impressive ‘Star Individual’ ranking.

Meanwhile, new individually named rankings include South West-based clinical negligence partner Marguarita Tyne and commercial litigation solicitor, partner Alex Jakubowski, who both achieved a Band 1.

Named for the first time in the ‘up and coming’ category, family team partner Adam Maguire.

Hailed ‘associates to watch’ for the first time, are personal injury and clinical negligence solicitor James Edmondson, and divorce and family law solicitor, Emily Finn.

Clarke Willmott CEO Stephen Rosser, who retained his own Chambers ‘eminent practitioner’ rating, said: “We are delighted with this year’s Chambers and Partners rankings. To rank in 29 specialist practice areas with an incredible 67 of our people receiving recommendations is a great achievement and coming hot on the heels of our equally impressive Legal 500 results indicates the strength of our firm as a whole.

“Most encouraging, was the excellent testimonials from our clients who are quoted in the guide and can attest, first hand, to the service we provide. Top tier ratings are a great recognition of quality. It is a testament to our hard-working and conscientious lawyers that we have retained or improved on last year’s impressive results, showcasing the strength and consistency of our practice.”

Chambers and Partners ranks law firms and lawyers based on the research of 170 full-time editors and researchers who talk to lawyers and clients by conducting in-depth telephone interviews.
