National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has achieved top-tier rankings once again in the 2027 edition of the Chambers and Partners UK Guide.

The firm is ranked in an impressive 32 practice areas across its seven regional offices, in the guide which identifies and ranks the best legal talent in the UK.

Five practice areas achieved the top Band 1 ranking, namely Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Corporate/M&A: £5 million and above; Family/Matrimonial, Professional Negligence: Mainly Claimant and Real Estate Litigation, – all of them based in the South West.

Three practice areas received improved rankings including Corporate/M&A: £5 million and above, South West, which moved from Band 2 to the top Band 1; Planning and Environment, South West, which moved from Band 3 to Band 2; and Banking and Finance, Wales, which also improved from a Band 3 to a Band 2 position.

The recently released 2027 edition also listed 76 individual recommendations for Clarke Willmott people, an increase of three on 2026, with six new rankings and seven improved rankings. Notable improvements included Simon Thomas reaching Band 1, Michelle Spark rising to Band 2, Bethan Evans rising to Band 2, Caroline Young rising to Band 2, and Vanessa Harris moving from ‘Associate to Watch’ to ‘Up and Coming’.

In total the firm received seven ‘Associate to Watch’ rankings, five ‘Up and Coming’ rankings, and retained the ‘Eminent Practitioner’ ranking for its CEO Peter Swinburn.

Peter Swinburn said: “We are delighted with this year’s Chambers and Partners results, in particular with the strengthened individual rankings, growth in total ranked lawyers and several notable promotions across the firm.

“We are proud to rank in 32 specialist practice areas with 76 of our people receiving recommendations. This third-party endorsement highlights our continued commitment to delivering results to our clients, developing our talent and maintaining the high standards of legal service we deliver.”

Clarke Willmott recently acquired Manchester-based specialist Immigration law firm Latitude Law, which also fared well in the latest Chambers and Partners results, as did its managing partner, Gary McIndoe.
