Alastair has over 25 years of experience in dealing with all aspects of family law, including pre and post nuptial agreements, divorce, cohabitation disputes, financial settlements and children matters. He fully understands the stress that can be caused by separation and divorce and his aim is always to help clients to achieve a fair outcome swiftly through constructive discussion and negotiation with their former partner. He also recognises that in some cases the more robust approach of court proceedings will be required in order to achieve a fair outcome and Alastair has very extensive experience in successfully representing clients in court applications.

Alastair is ranked as a Rising Star by leading legal directory, Legal 500 in its 2021 edition. The South West Family law team is also ranked as a Tier 1 firm by Legal 500 and a Band 1 firm by Chambers UK.

Alastair is a qualified collaborative lawyer and is a member of the Somerset Collaborative Lawyers group. He served for several years as the Chair of Resolution in Somerset and remains a member of the committee.
