The Manchester office of national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP achieved impressive rankings once again in the 2027 edition of the Chambers and Partners UK Guide.

The office has retained its rankings across three specialist areas with rankings for Corporate/M&A, Social Housing and Litigation.

Eleven Manchester lawyers were named in the individual rankings in the latest edition of the guide, with partner Lindsay Felstead, who heads the firm’s housing management team and leads its social housing team, ranked in Band 1. Head of office Ed Foulkes is ranked in Band 2 for Corporate/M&A.

Partners Lynn James, Matthew Wilson, Harriet Atkin, Louise Rogers and James Driver maintained their rankings while Michelle Spark rose from Band 3 to Band 2 in Planning. Additionally, Emily Finn, Geraldine Stephens and Harriet Killeen were named in the ‘Associate to Watch’ category.

Nationally, the firm is ranked in 32 practice areas across its seven regional offices, with five practice areas achieving a Band 1 ranking in the prestigious guide, namely Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Corporate/M&A: £5 million and above; Family/Matrimonial; Professional Negligence: Mainly Claimant; and Real Estate Litigation.

The recently released 2027 edition, which identifies and ranks the best legal talent in the UK, also listed 76 individual recommendations for Clarke Willmott people, an increase of three on 2026, with six new rankings and seven improved rankings.

Clarke Willmott CEO, Peter Swinburn, who was named ‘Eminent Practitioner’ in the guide, said: “We are delighted with this year’s Chambers and Partners results, in particular with the strengthened individual rankings, growth in total ranked lawyers and several notable promotions across the firm.

“We are proud to rank in 32 specialist practice areas with 76 of our people receiving recommendations. This third-party endorsement highlights our continued commitment to delivering results to our clients, developing our talent and maintaining the high standards of legal service we deliver.”

Clarke Willmott recently acquired Manchester-based specialist Immigration law firm Latitude Law, which also fared well in the latest Chambers and Partners results, as did its managing partner, Gary McIndoe.
