In April 2015 Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer merged to form a new charity, Breast Cancer Now. The ultimate ambition of the new charity is to stop women dying from breast cancer by 2050.
The charity focuses on research into the disease. It promises to bring together the brightest minds in the country in an attempt to find a cure for breast cancer.
In June 2015 the charity launched a brave and hard hitting multi media campaign, The Last One. The ad features real women with breast cancer speaking frankly about their experiences. You can view the campaign at the following link.
Sadly, despite the previous efforts of charities such as Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the UK still has one of the worst survival rates for breast cancer in Western Europe.
It is hoped that the new charity and new ad campaign will increase awareness and insight into the disease and raise funds to continue their research.
