In this series, we’re showcasing the individuals who make up our talented team. We’re speaking with our legal experts to learn more about their areas of expertise, what they enjoy most about their work, and how they work together to provide exceptional legal care to our clients.

We spoke to partner Kim Klahn, to find out more about the healthcare team at Clarke Willmott and the work they do to support clients.

How does your team support healthcare clients?

Our commercial healthcare solicitors offer extensive experience to our clients across the healthcare sector, including care homes, GP practices, dental practices, nurseries, veterinary practices, and pharmacies. The multi-disciplinary team brings in experts from across the firm, from teams such as corporate and commercial, employment, litigation, banking and finance, commercial property, intellectual property and data protection.

From buying and selling a care home to navigating regulatory compliance, contract procurement or securing finance for acquisitions, we provide our healthcare sector clients with proactive, commercially focused and cost-effective legal advice.

“Our expertise across the healthcare sector allow us to work with our clients to navigate the complexities of the healthcare landscape. We pride ourselves on getting a real understanding of the businesses of our healthcare clients to deliver exceptional service.”

Who makes up the talented healthcare sector team?

Kirill Bingham, partner and head of our Taunton office, helps healthcare organisations with management buy-outs and buy-ins, shareholder and partnership agreements and acquisitions and disposals. He has over 15 years of experience in handling deal completions in the healthcare sector (care homes, veterinary, dental, domiciliary care and pharmacy).

Manchester-based partner, Matthew Dootson, specialises in multi-site partnership structures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and governance. He has extensive experience supporting healthcare clients including advising on the implementation of a large-scale multi-tier GP partnership and advising on the acquisitions, disposals and mergers of various UK-based GP surgeries.

Also based in Manchester is partner Louise Rogers, assisting the team’s healthcare clients with employment matters, including contract negotiations, recruitment, workplace policy implementation and the drafting of contracts and other documentation. Her clients have described her as being “the epitome of professionalism” and having “first-class industry knowledge”.
