The new Building Safety Bill, published in July 2020, (along with other building safety measures e.g. Fire Safety Bill) comes in the wake of Dame Judith Hackitt’s high profile Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety following the Grenfell tragedy.

The UK IPO has reviewed its decision in relation to “interrupted days” and has declared that its “interrupted days” period will end on 29 July 2020. Therefore, the first non-interrupted day will commence on 30 July 2020 and all normal operations will resume.

From 30 March 2020 right to work checks for employers have been temporarily adjusted due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is a welcome move that makes it easier to carry out the checks.
