Clarke Willmott adds to growing construction team

National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has appointed a new partner to its growing construction team.

James Badger, who has worked in the construction law industry for 15 years, is an expert in construction contracts and covers a wide range of sectors from education and retail to residential and healthcare.

James is experienced in delivering construction contracts for Court of Protection clients as well as for bespoke builds and refurbishment works and frequently acts for developers on multi-million pound schemes and tenants requiring fit out contracts.

James said: “I am delighted to be joining Clarke Willmott’s construction team. The team has a stellar reputation and delivers great work for its clients. My experience in the industry is varied, ranging from sectors such as education, entertainment, commercial, retail and healthcare through to housebuilder and Court of Protection work.

I look forward to putting this skill set to good use for both existing and future clients and exploring the many opportunities that I have already seen.”

James will predominantly work from the firm’s Manchester office but will cover clients up and down the country.

James Driver, head of Clarke Willmott’s construction team, said: “James brings a wealth of experience to the team and will play a key role working closely with James Williams in growing the non-contentious side of our business. He has a proven track record of developing junior lawyers and giving first-rate, commercial advice to clients. We are delighted to have him onboard.”

Clarke Willmott has specialist teams in contentious and non-contentious construction and advises on every aspect of the procurement process in a number of sectors, including green energy, transport, local government, infrastructure, social housing, retail and facilities management.
