Home office: Manchester
Rebecca Clarke

Rebecca is noted by the Legal 500 North West Private Client Guide as someone who “gives clients complete confidence that they are in good hands”.

Rebecca is an experienced solicitor dealing with all aspects of private client work from capital taxes planning and Court of Protection work, to advising private family charitable trusts to dealing with contested probate cases.

How Rebecca can help you

She has particular interest in complex, high value and cross border estate administration where her efficiency and experience is of particular value to clients.

Rebecca enjoys working with and helping all types of private clients from high net worth families to landed estates and entrepreneurs.

Rebecca is noted as an “Associate to Watch” for the second year in Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide July 2021 and is chairperson of the Manchester Law Society Private Client Committee.

  • Rebecca recently acted for the executors of a multi million pound cross border estate with assets and liabilities in several jurisdictions which was subject to an Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975 claim, involved the sale of a group of limited companies and negotiations with HMRC in connection with lifetime tax avoidance schemes.
  • Rebecca has acted for the executors of the estate of a Lloyds name. The estate administration involved not only dealing with the Lloyds underwriting business but also the sale of several private family businesses, the winding up of various family trusts and the variation of the terms of the Will for Inheritance tax purposes and to avoid the operation of the rules on interaction.
  • Rebecca has recently advised a high net worth family on the creation of some family and charitable trusts and the settling of private company shares into those various family trusts for the future generations of the family, giving advice as to the most tax efficient structures, whilst achieving equality and independence for the various beneficiaries.

Rebecca is described by clients as having ‘a wonderful nature and couldn’t come recommended enough’ and that as having ‘held our hand through the whole process, and taken almost all the burden away from us by setting everything up exactly as we wanted.’.
