Last night Martin Lewis on his Money Show was discussing marriage and divorce, featuring an excellent panel of divorce specialists.

The show was a stark reminder of the common misconceptions surrounding the rights of unmarried couples compared with married couples. And the importance of obtaining an approved financial consent order from the family court when divorcing, to prevent your ex spouse making a financial claim against you in the future. Such a claim can be made even after you are divorced in the absence of the order.

The panel also touched on the option of the One Couple One Lawyer approach, which CW offers, to help keep separation amicable.
