Physiotherapy

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy helps to restore an individual’s movement and function to as near normal as possible after they have been affected by injury or illness.

Physiotherapists use various therapeutic exercises to help improve the strength and mobility of the areas affected. Each person is different, as are the injuries suffered, therefore it is important that the right treatment is used and at the right time. In order to determine the best treatment for you it will be necessary for you to undergo an initial triage session. This will help the treating therapist discover the symptoms which are causing the most pain and how these affect your ability to get on with your daily life and activities. The therapist will also be able to determine the level and frequency of treatment required.

In cases where liability is assessed to be likely to be partially or fully admitted we will work with the Defendant’s representatives to enable you to undergo necessary treatment at the appropriate time. In some cases the Defendant’s representatives may be able to assist in arranging this treatment. If this is not the case, we will arrange the treatment for you with a therapist within your local area on a private basis.

Of course following any injury or illness it is likely that your first port of call will be to seek help from the NHS. If, however, the NHS are not able to provide the right kind of treatment for you or waiting lists mean that you will not receive this at the optimum time, then we can step in and review your options with you, to include arranging treatment on a private basis.

Our main aim is to return you to the position you would have been in had you not sustained an injury or suffered an illness. Physiotherapy can greatly assist in this respect and can help facilitate your return to work or simply manage your symptoms more efficiently.
