Edmund Street Business Lunch – July 2021
We are hosting our next online edition of the Edmund Street Business Lunch, taking place on Wednesday 21 July 2021 at 12:30pm.
We are delighted to announce that our special guest speaker is Henrietta Brealey, CEO of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
Henrietta is the youngest ever Chief Executive in the 208 year history of the Chambers. During her ten year career at the Chambers, she has also been Director of Policy and Strategic Relationships and Chief Strategy Officer. In 2019, Henrietta was named as one of Birmingham Live’s Brum 30 under 30. Also, she is a trustee of the University of Birmingham’s Guild of Students and a graduate and supporter of the UpRising Leadership Programme.
The Road to Recovery in Greater Birmingham
Henrietta will explore the prospect of an economic recovery in Greater Birmingham as the region emerges from the pandemic. Topics will include:
- The game-changing projects and events such as Commonwealth Games 2022 and HS2 which will fuel economic growth in the region.
- An exploration of the emerging investment trends across the region – particularly in light of several anchor institutions reaffirming their commitment to the city.
- The longer term challenges that businesses in Birmingham face in order to avoid long term economic scarring from the pandemic. Henrietta will consider this with a particular focus on youth employment and tackling the climate crisis.
