Adam Maguire is a family law solicitor specialising exclusively in financial remedy work on divorce, including the division of matrimonial and non‑matrimonial assets and the negotiation and drafting of pre‑nuptial and post‑nuptial agreements.

Based in Birmingham, Adam advises clients nationally and internationally on divorce finances, from straightforward settlements to complex, high‑value financial remedy cases involving businesses, trusts, pensions and multiple asset classes.

Adam does not undertake children law work, allowing him to focus entirely on financial remedy proceedings and on achieving fair financial outcomes through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution and contested court proceedings where necessary.

With over a decade of experience specialising exclusively in financial remedy matters, alongside advising on pre‑ and post‑nuptial agreements, clients instruct Adam for clear, practical advice and a focused approach to resolving the financial consequences of relationship breakdown. He works closely with clients to understand their priorities, explain options in plain English and pursue outcomes that balance fairness, certainty and cost‑effectiveness, whether matters are resolved by agreement or determined by the court.

Adam is regularly instructed in high‑value and complex financial remedy proceedings involving significant wealth, including cases with business interests, trusts, pensions, inherited and pre‑marital assets and disputed nuptial agreements.

Adam also advises on financial claims between unmarried cohabitees.

While Adam does not undertake children law work, he works closely with colleagues in the Birmingham Family Team who specialise in complex disputes concerning children, ensuring clients receive seamless advice where parallel issues arise.

Adam is a Partner in the Family Team. He joined Clarke Willmott in 2022 following over five years at national law firm Shoosmiths, where he headed the Birmingham Family Team. Before that, he spent five years at a regional law firm.
