National law firm Clarke Willmott has advised compliance and energy services contractor Correct Contract Services (CCS) on its acquisition by Cardo Group.
The deal sees CCS, which is based in Andover and employs more than 280 people, join Cardiff-based Cardo Group, which offers building maintenance, retrofits and M&E services.
CCS was founded in 2007 by former gas engineers Danny Gladwyn and the late Trevor Dempsey.
Initially providing boiler installations, CCS grew to supporting more than 50,000 properties with electrical, heating and retrofit services. The business works with local authorities and social housing landlords across the UK to help ensure homes are safe and energy efficient.
The acquisition expands Cardo Group’s presence across the South of England and the Midlands.
CCS was advised throughout the acquisition by Kelvin Balmont, partner and head of the corporate team at Clarke Willmott in Southampton, and associate Marc Shevlin.
“This marks an exciting new chapter for CCS and a milestone that Trevor and I were incredibly proud to have worked towards together,” says Danny Gladwyn, managing director at Correct Contract Services.
“More importantly, it reflects the hard work, commitment and contribution of the entire CCS team, who have played such an important role in building the business into what it is today.
“Trevor’s vision and commitment to CCS have been a significant part of our journey. His legacy will live on through the values and strong foundations he helped build, and we will continue to carry that forward.
“This partnership gives CCS even greater scope to grow sustainably and strengthen the services we provide. Our clients and partners will continue to benefit from the same trusted people and quality of service, supported by the additional investment, capability and expertise of the wider Cardo Group. We are grateful to Kelvin and the Clarke Willmott team for their advice and support throughout the merger.”
Liam Bevan, CEO of Cardo Group, said: “CCS has built an excellent reputation for technical expertise, strong customer relationships and commitment to quality. We’re delighted to welcome the entire CCS team into the Cardo Group.”
