Clarke Willmott LLP has been recognised at this year’s South West Business Insider Dealmakers Awards, winning the Environmental Social and Governance Deal of the Year.

This deal was also nominated in the Large Deal of the Year (£25m+) category, along with the Management Buy Out of XYZ Machine Tools, on which Clarke Willmott also advised.

The firm, which has offices in Bristol and Taunton, was also highly commended in the ESG Deal category for the sale of Bristol & Avon Group Ltd. to Heidelberg Materials UK as well as being shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year.

This year’s awards were presented at a gala dinner at Bristol’s Marriott City Centre Hotel and hosted by comedian Lucy Porter.

Simon Thomas, commercial division MD and head of the Bristol corporate team at Clarke Willmott, said: “The past year has been another excellent one for our corporate lawyers, with numerous major transactions completed by our Bristol team and also by our Taunton team, led by partner Kirill Bingham.

“Winning this award, as well as being highly commended and shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year, is a testament to the strength of our corporate offering in the South West. We’re proud to work on the incredible deals that we do, and to support our clients through complex and challenging periods of their business’ life cycle.”

The annual Dealmakers Awards ceremony is a chance to celebrate the achievements of the South West’s top corporate lawyers, as well as its corporate financiers, accountants, bankers, funders and M&A professionals.
