Shark Willmott scoop two trophies at the Taunton Soroptimist Swimathon

Members of staff from our Taunton office and their family members recently took part in the Soroptimist Swimathon at Taunton School in support of four different charities.

Glenn Muggleton, Claire Smith, Daniel Gill, Kate Gardner, Ian Loader and Jonathon Stokes made up the team of six swimmers along with Sarah Loader and Mary Pike who took on the non-swimming duties of Team Captain.

The team managed to swim an impressive 71 laps (3,550 metres or 2.2 miles) on the day and raised £317.40 (not including Gift Aid).

The team managed to win not one but two trophies this year; The Clarke Willmott Trophy for the most money raised by a legal team and The Chamber of Commerce Trophy for the most laps by a Chamber team.

The event raised £16,463.66 which will be split between the Taunton Association for the Homeless, Stand Against Violence, Apple FM (Musgrove Park Hospital and Community Radio) and the Taunton Mother and Baby Home.

Well done Shark Willmott! Find out more in the Somerset County Gazette.
