Peter Swinburn has been re-elected chief executive at national law firm Clarke Willmott for a second four-year term.
Since he became CEO, Clarke Willmott has enjoyed a period of significant growth and development. Revenue has grown consistently from around £60 million before his appointment, with indicators suggesting that the firm will meet or even exceed its target of £72.5 million by the end of this financial year.
Peter Swinburn’s first term has also seen Clarke Willmott’s culture and values further embedded across the firm, helping to drive improvements in client satisfaction, enhancing people experience, accelerating the adoption of innovative technology and progressing its ESG commitments.
Peter’s second term as CEO will run from 1st April 2027 through to 31st March 2031.
Graham McIntyre, chair of Clarke Willmott, says Peter’s re-election will provide continuity as the firm looks ahead to delivering its next three-year strategy with a view to becoming a £100 million-plus business by the end of the 2030 financial year.
“I am delighted that Peter has been elected for a second term, not least for his ability to bring such enthusiasm and warmth to the role,” says Graham McIntyre.
“We have huge growth ambitions in the next phase of our strategy, and I know that Peter will invest all his remarkable energy into helping us achieve these goals together.
“At Clarke Willmott, we try to be a bit different to other law firms of our size, and this is reflected in our culture. Peter’s recent Inclusive Leader Award at the National Inclusion Week Awards is testament to where we want to be as a firm and I am delighted that Peter can carry that banner forward for a further term.”
Peter Swinburn adds: “I’m absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to continue as CEO.
“I love this firm and I genuinely love the job, so having the support to lead us through this next chapter means a great deal to me. We’ve achieved so much together over the past few years, but I honestly believe some of our biggest opportunities still lie ahead.
“My focus now is on finishing our current strategy strongly, then working to turn our 2030 ambitions into reality, while protecting the culture and values that make this such a special place to work.”
