As an Associate in our Employment team, Ruth advises clients on all employment law and HR issues. Ruth qualified with Clarke Willmott after joining in 2007 as a trainee, following her studies at University of Birmingham and Université d’Orléans, France. She re-joined the firm in 2021.
Ruth provides practical and commercial employment advice to executives and directors, HR professionals, and individuals alike, across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, retail, education, utilities, healthcare, agriculture and sport.

Ruth regularly advises both individuals and businesses on all manner of employment rights, whether on entry, during employment or on and after exit, including settlement agreements, grievances, disciplinaries, dismissal, redundancy, TUPE and all types of discrimination claim.
She also drafts and advises on contracts of employment, directors’ service agreements, internal HR process documentation and employment policies and procedures and has successfully assisted and led a number of Employment Tribunal cases, including advocating in Preliminary Hearings.
Ruth has particular industry experience having worked in private medical practice and the NHS.
