Esther is a Partner and Solicitor Advocate specialising in agricultural and property litigation as well as contentious probate and trusts and commercial matters (including Agri-Business and Agri-Tech). She heads up the commercial and private client litigation practice in the Taunton Office with a team of 15 lawyers. Esther’s expertise includes working with landed estates, agricultural clients, private clients and businesses.
Esther joined Clarke Willmott in 2013 after working at Burges Salmon in Bristol and having trained and qualified at city firm Linklaters in 2005.
Advising in relation to agricultural tenancies under the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995 and the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 – e.g. Case B, D, E and G Notices and Succession Applications.
Advising in relation to adverse possession claims, prescriptive claims and other property disputes.
Acting for claimants in obtaining prohibitive injunctions restraining trespass of persons known and unknown – e.g. representing successful applicant in obtaining injunctions against hunt saboteurs.
Advising in relation to water and flooding related matters – e.g. acting for Claimants in ECHR Protocol 1 Article 1 Claim against the Environment Agency (King v EA, High Court, Queens Bench Division, 19 January 2018).
