Our Insolvency team are seeking a bright, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals ideally to join them as a Paralegal.
You will enjoy access to a wide variety of Insolvency work, managing your own caseload from inception to conclusion, exercising professional judgement with regard to established Clarke Willmott case management system and client protocols.
Working closely with our Partners and experienced solicitors in the team, you will have access to plenty of one-on-one support, guidance and supervision, whilst being encouraged to take responsibility for your own files and gain confidence in your own individual style. This role is a great opportunity for you to gain experience in both personal and corporate insolvency. The department has a heavy emphasis on contentious work pursuing claims on behalf of office holders against directors and others to recover assets for the benefit of creditors.
Where possible, we will give you opportunities to assist our solicitors and Partners on more complex transactions.
We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact so, as a minimum, we would expect you to have completed the LPC and already have a good technical grounding in the law and the basics of the litigation process. Whether or not you have already gained some paralegal experience (in any field) you’ll be keen to develop your legal career undertaking complex and varied insolvency work.
You’ll need a strong intellect to succeed in this role, so we will be looking for a corresponding level of consistent academic achievement. You’ll also need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills. The work requires self-motivation, resilience and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
You will relish helping others and be eager to learn. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first class service to our clients and the lawyers you will be supporting, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
Finally, legal practice is about people and this is very much a team orientated role.
