Hours: Full time
Vacancy Reference: 270-PCF
Our Cardiff office opened in May 2015 and is thriving, building a solid platform within commercial property, social housing, banking and finance. We have big plans to see it develop into a fuller service practice and are looking to recruit people who share our vision. As a smaller office, it has a relaxed and friendly culture and it can provide a level of flexibility, opportunity and development which might be missing in bigger practices.
We are looking for a paralegal to assist the lawyers in the commercial property team with their work, working closely with them on a variety of transactions. The team advise on a wide variety of property related matters; secured lending, property acquisitions and disposals including property due diligence and real estate finance, property/portfolio management work, and the property aspects of corporate acquisitions disposal and funding.
You will assist with producing reports on title – summarising lengthy and sometimes complex title documents and leases into shorter digestible documents in language that our clients will understand, reviewing conveyancing searches and planning documentation (planning permissions and S106 Agreements) and raising appropriate enquiries with third parties.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career and enjoy a challenge within a well-respected, growing team.
We are looking for someone with convincing aspirations for a career in law, and an interest in property law. You will be able to demonstrate real potential, with the talent, ambition and interest to succeed in a career within this field. As a law or GDL graduate, you will already have a good technical grounding in the law, and ideally, you will also have completed the LPC.
We would prefer you to have at least six months’ experience as a paralegal, and if this experience is within the property sector this would be especially helpful. Whatever your experience, you will need excellent academics and strong communication skills to be considered.
The work requires self-motivation and the ability to work to demanding deadlines, so you’ll need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills.
You will be a team player and a great communicator, relish helping others and be eager to learn. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work, providing a first class support service to the lawyers you support and to our clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
