On Thursday 26 February, members of our Bristol and Taunton Marketing & Business Development, and Bristol Green teams stepped away from their desks and into the fresh air to support a day of environmental volunteering with Your Park, the charity dedicated to enhancing green spaces across Bristol and Bath. The team spent the day at Brandon Hill, one of the city’s most iconic parks, working alongside Your Park’s conservation leaders to help care for an important local habitat.

Guided by a Your Park ranger, our team took part in conservation tasks including:

  • Maintaining and nurturing the park’s herb garden
  • Clearing overgrown scrub
  • General park care to support biodiversity and ensure the space remains welcoming and accessible for the local community.

These activities directly contribute to the ecological health of Brandon Hill, a haven for wildlife in the heart of the city, and reflect Your Park’s mission to make green spaces thrive for the benefit of everyone.

As a firm, we are committed to minimising our environmental impact, protecting biodiversity and playing an active role in the communities where we live and work. Our volunteering with Your Park aligns strongly with our ESG commitments, including:

  • Being a responsible business: We actively seek opportunities for our people to support local conservation projects, and we regularly volunteer time to environmental initiatives.
  • Supporting local communities: Our work with Your Park is part of our wider focus on community impact, whether through environmental volunteering, supporting social mobility initiatives, or partnering with local charities. Across the firm, we have collectively volunteered more than 1,200 hours to community projects, demonstrating the depth of our commitment.
  • Embedding sustainability into everyday activities: With many of our team members having completed Carbon Literacy Training, this volunteering day offered a chance to put learning into practice, turning knowledge into meaningful action that benefits Bristol’s natural environment.
  • Collaborative culture: The day wasn’t just impactful for the local ecosystem, it also offered colleagues the opportunity to connect, reflect, and work together in a setting very different from the office. Whether clearing scrub or restoring habitat areas, the shared experience reinforced the strong collaborative culture within our firm.

Megan Samphier, Bid Manager, said:Volunteering at Brandon Hill was a rewarding opportunity to step away from the day‑to‑day and contribute to a project that genuinely benefits the local community. Working alongside colleagues and the Your Park team was energising, and it was great to see the meaningful impact that even a few hours of collective effort can make”.

This is just one of many initiatives we’ll be undertaking as part of our pledge to reduce environmental impact, enhance biodiversity, and support thriving, resilient communities across each of our office locations.
