Gravity Smart Campus – the future is bright!

Representatives from Clarke Willmott were invited to Gravity just outside Bridgwater to meet the Gravity Programme Director, Paul Lowndes and find out more about the site.

What is Gravity Smart Campus?

GravityThe Corporate and Commercial Property team visit the Gravity Smart Campus is a blueprint for a smarter, cleaner future, delivering a new era of possibility, where companies make a difference socially, economically and environmentally. It is an ideally situated 616-acre commercial development site offering unique flexibility, which has enterprise zone status until 2042. Located at the heart of the greater South West with excellent road, rail and air connectivity it has the potential of creating 9,000 full time high value jobs with associated supply chain opportunities, providing significant economic impact for the region.

What impact will Gravity Smart Campus have on the area?

Chris Thorne, Partner and Head of Clarke Willmott Taunton said

“The scale of the opportunity available at Gravity is truly exceptional. For Somerset to be at the forefront of developing a smart campus for technologies of the future in terms of high value jobs and driving the environmental agenda should not be underestimated. Whilst I had heard a lot about the site, seeing what could be created and developed along with the progress made so far really opened my mind. I would like to thank Paul at Gravity for his time and the tour to learn more about what the future could look like.”

Paul Lowndes, Gravity Programme Director said “It was lovely to welcome Clarke Willmott to the site and to see their enthusiasm for the opportunities that could be delivered. Significant progress on getting the site shovel ready has been made and delighted that the local development order to progress was approved in December 2021.”
