We have an exciting opportunity on a full time or part time basis for an ambitious Personal Tax / Trust Senior to join our Tax & Trusts department within our Private Capital team. This position will offer you an opportunity to work on a varied caseload of personal tax matters and could be a fantastic chance for you to utilise and expand on your current experience.

Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham,  Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton. This role will be based in our Taunton office.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:

You will assist on a range of matters including the following:

• Advising high net worth individuals on all matters relating to their personal tax, to include capital gains and inheritance tax

• Resolving queries, preparing tax computations, and addressing the reporting to HMRC

• Advising on the IHT and CGT issues that arise in connection with the deceased’s estate

• Liaising/negotiating directly with HMRC regarding the availability of reliefs and exemptions from IHT and CGT

• An understanding/knowledge of Trust taxation would be useful but not essential to this role

• Meeting with and liaising with clients

We are an experienced team, who will provide you with training, guidance and support to assist you in getting fully up to speed with this role and to begin developing your own relationships with our clients.

It is an integral part of this role that you comply with data security and all firm policies and procedures.

This role is right for you if:

Ideally you will be part-qualified working towards your AAT/ATT/CTA qualification and will be keen to extend your skills and experience. You will preferably have experience with completing tax computations and advising high net worth individuals, although this is not essential and full training will be provided.

You’ll have technical and creative excellence, strong IT skills, integrity and a professional manner. You will also be good at using your initiative and determined to provide the best service possible for our clients.

Finally, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and develop, which will help you thrive in this role.
