How Lauren can help you
Lauren deals with all housing management related matters, including progressing injunction applications for anti-social behaviour, applications for committal, and a wide range of possession claims, including anti-social behaviour, unlawful occupiers, failed succession, breach of tenancy and sub-letting. Lauren also regularly defends housing conditions claims.
Experience
- Represented a Registered Provided in a £1.1million claim for unlawful eviction which was successfully dismissed following a hotly contested 9-day trial at the High Court (Eviction Fiction! Michelle Caney Successful in £1.1M Unlawful Eviction Case – St. Philips Chambers)
- During lengthy contempt of court proceedings, following a Defendant being arrested at least 8 times for breaching the Injunction Order, proposed a settlement whereby the client would not seek a custodial sentence if the Defendant terminated her tenancy agreement. The offer was accepted and saved the client the time and costs of seeking a possession order, which at the time was not possible as possession proceedings were stayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
- Obtained a Global Substitution Order in the High Court for a Registered Provider of Social Housing who had changed their name, and had 315 rent cases issued in the County Court in the former name which were required to be changed prior to any further orders being made.
