Harriet Neusinger

Chartered Legal Executive (Senior Associate)

Home office: Taunton
Harriet Neusinger - Private Capital Chartered Legal Executive (Associate) - Taunton

Harriet deals with complex and high value estates, many of which have an agricultural or business element; cross border estates; and advises clients on tax mitigation.

Harriet is a Senior Associate and Chartered Legal Executive within the Private Capital team, specialising in estate administration and lifetime planning. Harriet has over 11 years’ experience in this field, with over three of those at Clarke Willmott. She approaches the administration of an estate within the wider context of the family’s wealth planning, for example not merely with a view to mitigating tax but also considering the protection of assets for the next generation. Harriet often assists beneficiaries with their own lifetime planning following receipt of their inheritance.

How Harriet can help you

  • Advice on inheritance tax mitigation
  • Advice on claiming relevant reliefs from IHT (for example agricultural and business property relief; quick succession relief) and how best to present this argument to HMRC
  • Experience of complex intestacies
  • Cross border estates and resealing foreign grants
  • Advice on post death variations
  • Advising on the tax implications of lifetime gifts, to include assessment of whether made from income; annual exemptions and other reliefs; reviewing and assessing the correlation between different types of gifts (potentially exempt transfers and immediately chargeable transfers)
