An Will declaration, about to be signed

Dealing with the death of a loved one will always be a difficult time for our clients. Through our team of dedicated and experienced solicitors and paralegals we aim to guide our clients through the process of probate with sensitivity and efficiency.

Probate (if a person dies with a Will) or Administration (if a person dies without a Will) is not always necessary. Our practice is to direct all initial enquires following a bereavement to a solicitor who can then establish whether Probate or Administration will be required and then offer support and advice to the family on the next steps.

We offer a bespoke service to all our clients. This can range from initial advice following a bereavement, applying for Grants of Probate/Administration, drafting the relevant H M Revenue & Customs inheritance tax account to claim all relevant tax reliefs and then distributing the estate and accounting to each beneficiary. We are experts in negotiating with H M Revenue & Customs to minimise the amount of inheritance tax paid by our clients.

Our charges are transparent and again bespoke. We only charge for the work our clients want us to do. We do not charge any “added” value percentage element. Ultimately therefore you are only paying for the work you need expert assistance with.

Assisting families through the probate process necessarily involves investigating all aspects of a persons’ life and therefore where relevant we work closely with other colleagues within Clarke Willmott (Property, Family, Agricultural) together with other professionals.
