Following on from the government’s announcement in November 2015, it has been announced that Hospital Trusts in England are to receive additional funding in an attempt to reduce the number of stillbirths, neonatal deaths, maternal deaths and brain injuries at birth. Please refer to our earlier blog.
The fund is to be split between 90 NHS Trusts and has been allocated for further training, monitoring equipment and ultrasound machines.
The government has said that they are investing in a new system that can be used so that all NHS staff can learn from every stillbirth and neonatal death.
For more information please refer to the announcement on the Department of Health’s website.
