£6,500 raised for Headway Somerset

Martin Pettingell, Chairman of Headway Somerset is presented with a cheque for £6,500

On the 17 April the Motor Accident Solicitors Society in conjunction with leading barristers chambers the Clerksroom held a seminar looking at the issue of fraud in motor accident claims.

Despite what the media would have you believe this is still relatively rare but the effect of those cases that do arise is wildly disproportionate in its impact on genuine claimants, those that act for them and the insurers who deal with claims.

This well attended seminar was aimed at addressing a number of the issues that arise from fraudulent claims.

An added bonus was that the proceeds of the days event, some £6,500.00, were very generously donated to the brain injury charity Headway Somerset.

Martin commented that this was a fantastic addition to the charities’ funds and would go a long way to helping those who have suffered brain injuries, often of course, as victims of road traffic accidents.
