Anne Jones

Anne is a senior associate in the planning team specialising in planning and highways work. Anne has a wide range of experience in planning and highways work in both the public and private sectors. She worked for a number of larger local authorities and a top ten London law firm before joining Clarke Willmott.

Anne’s planning expertise includes advising on planning applications and appeals in relation to residential and mixed use developments, minerals and waste, supermarkets, hotels, and enforcement work. Anne has acted for a number of major development companies, mineral and waste companies including Hanson and Biffa, supermarkets including Tesco as well as leading house builders Barratt and St James and registered providers including Aster and Guinness dealing with appeals and the negotiation of complex planning and infrastructure agreements. Anne has recently acted for a number of larger registered providers in the negotiation of affordable housing provisions in complex planning agreements.

Experience

• Acting for a local planning authority drafting and negotiating a complex planning agreement for the regeneration and redevelopment of Cowes Outer Harbour and surrounding area involving the HCA and other landowners.
• Working with our social housing team on the acquisition of eight sites spread across the UK for a leading registered provider. Each of the sites required the negotiation and completion of planning and highways agreements to deal with affordable housing, highways and contributions prior to the tight deadline imposed for acquisition.
• Drafting and negotiating a deed of variation to planning agreement for expansion of Sainsbury store at Newport, Isle of Wight and providing related planning advice on planning and highways matters.
• Acting for a national property investor to secure the delivery of a significant planning gain package including affordable housing to allow for the demolition of an office block and construction of apartments on a constrained site.
