He has acted for major banks and finance houses, housing associations, national housebuilders, utility companies, retailers and charities.
Andrew is a leading specialist with regards to advising on Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT).
He is a member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group and attends the meetings of one of HMRC’s SDLT “Working Together” groups.

Andrew also advises extensively in relation to the Community Infrastructure Levy.
Through his 40 year career Andrew has dealt with the acquisition or disposal of almost every kind of real estate property in England and Wales.
One highlight was taking a mortgage over London’s Ritz hotel and acting for the tenant on the then single largest letting on the Broadgate development in the City of London. More recently, Andrew has acted for the borrower on the extremely complex re-funding of a consented 30 acre residential site in the South-West.
In 1985 Andrew co-wrote a leading textbook on business leases, published by Butterworths.
In SDLT terms, Andrew has recently advised on a very complex acquisition of a part-constructed apartment block of 60 units in a major South-West city, and on a major re-structuring of land interests in an inner-city development site involving a local authority.
