Update: Amendments to Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill

The Government has introduced further amendments to the bill which is currently before the House of Lords.

The two key amendments are the following:

  • Making dismissals related to an employee’s political opinion or affiliation exempt from the unfair dismissal qualifying period; and
  • Removing ‘good faith’ requirement from whistle-blowing protection – instead Tribunals can reduce compensation where they feel a disclosure was not made in good faith.
