The Taunton office of Clarke Willmott LLP has appointed a new partner, Stuart Parker, to enhance our offering in the South West.
Stuart joins our corporate and commercial team having spent the past three and a half years establishing and managing a Somerset-based virtual law practice – Future Law. Stuart previously spent seven years as an officer serving in the Royal Navy, where he navigated minesweepers and ran the communications department of a large frigate. Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1999, he has been an active part of the business community in the South West and has spent an equal amount of his time in both private practice and as a solicitor in large multi-national companies.
Stuart’s core legal skills centre on the main disciplines of company commercial, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and public sector procurement. In his new role at Clarke Willmott he will be involved in the drafting and negotiation of complex and often high-value commercial contracts, and the sale and purchase of large and small businesses.
Taunton office head, Stuart Thorne, said: “We are delighted to welcome Stuart Parker on board. His broad base of commercial legal expertise, coupled with his recent business operating experience will complement our team’s reputation for delivering quality legal services to businesses and individuals throughout the region, particularly in our spiritual heartland of Somerset”.
In addition to his general corporate experience, Stuart has experience of public procurement and was legal advisor to a consortium that won the MoD’s Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft PFI contract and also for a large French hard and soft facilities management company, operating across the public sector.
