Stuart is a partner in the construction team specialising in all aspects of non-contentious construction including building contracts, consultant appointments, development agreements and facility agreements.
Stuart’s expertise includes working with commercial and residential developers, institutional investors, banks, registered providers and contractors on a wide variety of projects. He has particular experience in advising on JCT contracts, NEC contracts, bespoke development agreements and joint ventures.
Stuart joined Clarke Willmott in 2017 after working at Trowers & Hamlins for 12 years.
Lead construction adviser to funds operating within the Kames Capital brand in relation to UK commercial property assets valued at over £2 billion. Advice included development and refurbishment of commercial assets and due diligence for new acquisitions.
Advises numerous registered providers on acquisitions and developments. Clients include One Housing Group, Vivid Homes, Women’s Pioneer, Southern, Clarion and Optivo.
Advised commercial developers on a range of projects including advising Galliford Try in respect of the regeneration project at Silvertown to create over 1000 homes, retail space and a new hotel.
Advised Apache Capital on its investments into UK property, particularly the private rented sector and student accommodation. Advice included the £1 billion joint venture with Moda Living to develop properties across the UK, including in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.
Advised the Malaysian developer, IJM Land, on its landmark project at Royal Mint Gardens. Advice included the procurement of the consultant team and contractors, as well as liaison with Network Rail and DLR.
