Solicitor – Contentious Construction – Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, London or Southampton
An opportunity for a Contentious Construction lawyer to join a friendly and highly supportive team, with plenty of client contact and on-going training.
Location: Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, London or Southampton
Hours: Full Time
Vacancy Reference: 949-LBM
Who we are
You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, love the work you do and deliver the best results for your clients. It’s our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.
We work flexibly and you’ll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.
Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
Delivering high quality, complex, adjudication and litigation (including Protocol) work, together with providing strategic advice and flexible dispute resolution solutions for clients, including through mediation, within a supportive and friendly team.
Our approach is simple – we understand our clients’ needs and objectives and provide solutions in a commercially focussed and pragmatic way; providing ‘practical construction advice’.
We want to invest in your career, and help you to become a recognised expert in your own right, so you will have plenty of one-to-one development and encouragement from the wider national team. We will ensure that you get a good level of client contact and responsibility.
We will also actively encourage you to be involved in business development and will give you opportunities to participate in networking and marketing activities. We are highly sector and client focussed, so understanding and knowing our clients will be part and parcel of your role, together with plenty of direct client contact.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures; and we have strong systems to achieve time and cost efficiencies for clients.
This role is right for you if:
You have talent, ambition and a real interest in Contentious Construction work.
You may be a newly qualified lawyer or have built up to 3 years’ experience already and ready to take the next step in your career. Either way, you will have built up enough experience to be able to manage your workload with ‘light touch’ supervision, gained over your experience, ideally in a specialist construction team (or having done a construction training seat).
We value hard working team players, but equally value and promote a positive culture with a strong work-life balance. Yes, there are deadlines to meet, but we do not believe that long hours are healthy or produce great client service. We look for well-rounded teams and individuals, as do our clients.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope that you will be enthusiastic about joining a leading construction team and confident that you can contribute to its success going forwards in this role.
