Solicitor – Banking and Finance – Firm Wide
We are seeking a Banking and Finance Solicitor to join our team. You will be joining two Partners and a Solicitor, advising on a wide variety of finance related matters, acting for both lenders and borrowers. The team that you will be joining and supporting are Cardiff-based, but we are fully able to support remote working.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop their career with us, so we are open to a variety of backgrounds. If you are a newly qualified solicitor, you may have completed a seat in a banking and finance. Alternatively, if you have more post-qualification experience, this may be within a banking and finance or even a corporate or real estate finance team.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
- Advising on a wide variety of finance related matters, acting for both lenders and borrowers
- Drafting, negotiating and advising our clients on facility documents, security and intercreditor arrangements
- Assisting in project-managing finance transactions to completion and running the CP (conditions precedent) process
- Dealing with post-completion formalities
- Assisting other teams with ad hoc finance queries
- Preparing and agreeing ancillary documents, e.g. resolutions and certificates
Knowledge of the sectors we work in, being social housing finance, property development finance, education finance, third sector finance and clean energy finance would be a bonus, but not essential.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact, and the role would be well suited to a 0-3 year qualified ambitious lawyer who is looking to progress their career within our team.
You’ll need a strong intellect to succeed in this role, so we will be looking for a corresponding level of consistent academic achievement. You’ll also need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills. The work requires self-motivation, proactivity, resilience and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
You will relish helping others and be eager to learn. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first-class service to our clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
Beyond your technical skills, you will have developed good client management skills and have a strong interest in business development. Essentially, you will also be a genuine team player, looking to support others and share ideas and opportunities for the benefit of the team as a whole, enjoying and benefitting from the resulting success along with your colleagues.
