An opportunity for a law graduate to begin their career as a Paralegal supporting our Housing Management team in Southampton.
Hours: Full Time

Housing Management is a busy litigation team, with lawyers based in Southampton, London and Manchester. We act for a large number of Registered Providers of Social Housing on all aspects of their housing functions including possession actions, anti-social behaviour, leasehold queries and policy and procedure work.
As a paralegal you will support a team of experienced lawyers gaining experience in a variety of interesting work. You will assist with a range of general administration tasks to keep the team organised, but you will also gain experience and understanding of client work and develop your skills as a lawyer.
Working under supervision and guidance, you will be able to take responsibility for progressing simple transactions like the following:
- Assisting in considering client instructions and drafting initial advice out;
- Assisting in drafting pleadings and witness statements in support of applications brought in
the County Court;
- Liaising with the county courts and clients.
You will soon become an integral part of this highly regarded team, playing a key part in delivering an excellent level of service to our clients and building your legal career accordingly.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with data security and all firm policies and procedures.
You will be a law/GDL graduate or equivalent with a keen interest in law. Additionally, if you have already completed the LPC this will be of great benefit but is not essential.
Previous paralegal experience would be desirable, but what is most important is your attitude, so you will need to show us that you are hard-working, with initiative, drive and great organisational skills. On-the-job training and guidance will be provided to enable you to succeed in this role.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people and other stakeholders.
This is a busy role, with deadlines to manage and competing priorities, so you will be required to work quickly, accurately and efficiently and remain calm under pressure. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first-class support service to your colleagues and our clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
You will relish helping others and be eager to learn.
