Who we are
You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, love the work you do and deliver the best results for your clients. It’s our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.
We work flexibly and you’ll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.
Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion. For this particular role, you will be able to work from home for part of the week and attend the office two or three times a week. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
You will be providing a crucial support function to our fast-paced Financial Litigation team. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Opening client files following firm procedures
- Maintaining files on a day-to-day basis and ensuring all electronic copies of emails and any documents are filed correctly within FileSite
- Preparing client engagement letters, fee agreements and other documents.
- Client care; maintaining excellent relationships, handling enquiries and written correspondence
- Accurately organising and labelling client papers
- Managing pension transfer cases
- Archiving, filing and closing files
- Updating databases and spreadsheets
- Document production using Microsoft Office packages
- Assisting the team during busy periods, undertaking ad hoc tasks
This is an extremely busy role, with deadlines to manage and competing priorities, so you will be required to work quickly, accurately and efficiently, whilst remaining calm under pressure. You will be expected to think ahead to meet the needs of your fee earners and clients.
This role will allow you to work flexibly from your home working environment, as well as our Bristol office when attendance is necessary.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.
This role is right for you if:
This role will suit you if you like to prioritise your own workload, work closely to deadlines, and have the ability to work with minimum supervision. You will need to demonstrate from experience that you are exceptionally organised and proactive and that you have a flexible ‘can-do’ attitude.
We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and can provide a first-class support service to your fee earners, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible whilst always paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
You will have an excellent telephone manner, spelling and grammar and be proficient with the usual Microsoft packages, including Excel and PowerPoint. Visual Files experience is desirable but not essential.
You should be able to demonstrate a solid level of academic achievement, with a minimum of 6 GCSE passes at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
Whilst previous administration experience is beneficial, we focus on your attitude, work ethic, initiative and problem-solving skills, and a general willingness to learn and develop. All of these attributes will enable you to thrive in this role and further develop within the team and the firm.
