This is a fee earning position, supporting the employment and HR Team (with possible elements of sports law and immigration work).

Supporting the Bristol employment and HR team, this is an opportunity to build experience assisting the team in their day to day work.
You will work with the team and Bex Sinclair (Head of our HR consultancy unit) on a range of contentious and non-contentious work for both commercial/corporate clients, as well as (generally senior) individuals. This will include assisting our corporate clients with drafting contracts, employee handbooks, and preparing and finalising settlement agreements.
You will be involved in preparing for Employment Tribunal cases (e.g. unfair dismissal and discrimination claims), collating document bundles, drafting witness statements and liaising with counsel and clients, as appropriate. It will also include supporting HR managers in dealing with day to day HR issues (from recruitment through to termination – and every issue in between).
Although this role is primarily a fee-earning role, there may also be an administrative aspect to the role from time to time, managing diaries, submitting expenses, etc. Some of these tasks may include assisting with business development activities including pitches, proposals, tenders, preparing and collating all materials for seminars.
We are looking for someone who has completed their LPC and has gained experience in Employment Law and/or HR Practice. With significant growth in this area, this is a good opportunity for someone looking to progress on to a period of recognised training with us.
You should have a reasonable knowledge of Employment Law and/or HR Practice and procedure, attained through your legal studies or recent work experience.
You should be proactive and flexible in working both individually and as part of a team, with minimal supervision, and be able to prioritise a number of different projects effectively.
Communication will be one of your strong points, both written and oral, and you will be passionate about delivering excellent quality service to our clients.
We expect you to be able to use your initiative, and be a forward-planner, anticipating our lawyers’ and clients’ needs in advance wherever possible.
