Paralegal – Corporate – Manchester (12 month FTC)
An exciting opportunity for an entry level paralegal to assist our corporate lawyers.
Hours: Full time (to ideally start in September 2019)
Term: Temporary (12 month FTC, maternity cover)

Supporting a team of two Partners, two Associates and a Solicitor in our Corporate team in Manchester, this is an opportunity to build experience in a range of different corporate transactions and related work acting on behalf of local, national and some international businesses.
Your work will vary from day to day, but will include:
- Assisting on corporate transactions including drafting and negotiating documents
- Carrying out due diligence
- Drafting board minutes and resolutions
- Carrying out research
- Carrying out company secretarial work, including dealing with company formations, filings and searches
- Dealing with post completion work
You will also have the opportunity to get involved in business development activities as a key member of the Corporate team as part of our friendly Manchester office.
Working under supervision, in addition to supporting on larger transactions, you will also be able to take responsibility for progressing simple transactions. You will have some client contact and as a fee earner you will be responsible for recording your chargeable time and contributing to the revenue of the team.
Corporate work can involve some demanding timescales and deadlines so there may be times when you need to work late at short notice.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.
You will be a law or GDL graduate with a strong level of academic achievement. Ideally you will also have completed the LPC. Previous experience as a paralegal in any practice area would be helpful but is not essential, but either way you should demonstrate in your application your interest in corporate work.
You’ll also need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills. The work requires self-motivation, a flexible attitude and the ability to work to demanding deadlines.

We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first class support service to your fee earners, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
