We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Senior Trade Mark Attorney to join our exceptional and highly regarded intellectual property team. Our intellectual property team are leaders in their field and are ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK legal directories and our Manchester office has been named as a Top Tier firm in intellectual property.
Our client base reflects our nationwide strength and quality. Our IP specialists work with famous international brands, as well as start-ups, in fields such as fashion, technology and vehicle manufacture.
In this busy and varied role, you will be required to undertake a wide range of high quality contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work including managing our clients’ trade mark portfolios as well as assisting with intellectual property infringement matters.

Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
Working closely with our IP partners you will be required to manage client trade mark portfolios and assist with intellectual property infringement matters where your main duties will include but, are not limited to:
- Dealing with trade mark prosecution;
- Advising on the management of intellectual property rights;
- Clearance searches;
- Monitoring trade mark renewals; and
- Advising on the transfer of trade marks.
This role will also require you to assist the team and firm with marketing and business development to build upon our growing presence in the intellectual property world.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.
This role is right for you if:

With a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a TMA, you will also have a strong intellect to succeed in this role. You will also need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills. The work requires a keen eye for detail, self-motivation and the ability to work to demanding deadlines.
Finally, legal practice is about people and this is very much a team orientated role. You will relish helping others and be eager to learn. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first-class service to clients and senior solicitors alike, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
