Who we are
You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, love the work you do and deliver the best results for your clients. It’s our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.
We work flexibly and you’ll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.
Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
You will be working with colleagues locally and nationally for a wide range of clients including public and private UK and International companies and their owners in relation to M&A, equity and debt funding and general corporate structuring work. As a national corporate practice there is a good level of interaction and team working between our offices providing additional opportunities to develop your skills and experience.
The range and quality of our caseload makes it an exceptional base to develop your career in corporate law.
You will also be encouraged to take an active involvement in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow our already well-regarded practice.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.
This role is right for you if:
We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact, and the role would be well suited to a 4-8 year qualified ambitious lawyer who is looking to progress their career within corporate law.
As an experienced corporate lawyer, you will already have played a lead role in some transactions and acted as the principle assistant on other more complex ones. You will have built a solid foundation in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. A working knowledge of debt finance would also be useful.
You’ll need a strong intellect to succeed in this role, so we will be looking for a corresponding level of consistent academic achievement. You’ll also need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills. The work requires self-motivation, resilience and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
You will relish helping others and be eager to learn. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first-class service to our clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
Beyond your technical skills, you will have developed strong client management skills and have a strong interest in business development. Essentially, you will also be a genuine team player, looking to support others and share ideas and opportunities for the benefit of the team as a whole, enjoying and benefitting from the resulting success along with your colleagues.
If you are ambitions, this role has good prospects for career advancement.
Finally, legal practice is about people and this is very much a team orientated role.
