An opportunity for a law graduate to begin their career as a Paralegal supporting our Housing Management team in either our Southampton, Manchester or London offices. This opportunity offers excellent progression opportunities.

As a paralegal in our well-regarded Housing Management team, you will support our solicitors in providing a first-class service for our clients. We act for many Social Housing landlords on all aspects of their housing functions including possession actions, anti-social behaviour, disrepair and policy and procedure work.
You will assist with a range of general administration tasks to keep the team organised, but you will also gain experience and understanding of client work and develop your skills as a lawyer.
You will soon become an integral part of this highly regarded team, playing a key part in delivering an excellent level of service to our clients and building your legal career accordingly.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
Working under supervision and guidance, you will be able to take responsibility for progressing simple matters such as:
- Assisting in considering client instructions and drafting initial advice;
- Assisting in drafting pleadings and witness statements;
- Liaising with the County Court on behalf of clients;
- Drafting applications
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with data security and all firm policies and procedures.
This role is right for you if:
You are a law/GDL graduate or equivalent with a keen interest in law.
Previous paralegal experience would be desirable, particularly housing management experience, but what is most important is your attitude, so you will need to show us that you are hard-working, with initiative, drive and great organisational skills. On-the-job training and guidance will be provided to enable you to succeed in this role.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people and other stakeholders. You will have good numeracy skills and be competent in using Microsoft Excel.
This is a busy role, with deadlines to manage and competing priorities, so you will be required to work quickly, accurately and efficiently and remain calm under pressure. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first class support service to your colleagues and our clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
