Riding school sued

Ceri Tonkinson was riding a young horse at Downside Riding School in Wales.  An employee of the riding school rode up behind Mrs Tonkinson.  Mrs Tonkinson asked the employee to wait but he overtook her, causing her horse to rear up and for her to fall off causing her fractures to her back and pelvis.

Mrs Tonkinson was successful in her claim against the riding school and the High Court Judge in Cardiff awarded her £37,000 plus costs for her injuries ’caused by the inconsiderate actions of a riding school employee.’

Yet another successful claim against a riding school, which highlights how crucial it is for a riding school to hold sufficient insurance to cover such claims against it.
