licensingWhen it comes to understanding the new licensing laws, we wrote the book. The book in question is the Law Society Handbook “Licensing for Conveyancers – A Practical Guide”. It provides practical advice on the Licensing Act 2003, which introduced the most dramatic change in UK licensing laws for nearly a century. We handle a broad range of vital licensing and leisure matters, including liquor, entertainment, late night refreshment, betting, and gaming applications, hearings and appeals. We also advise and represent clients in associated compliance and regulatory matters. Our team has considerable expertise in all aspects of the procedures relating to the highly specialised fields of licensing for the sale of alcohol, the provision of public entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment. We can also advise on the changes introduced by and the practical implications of the new Gambling Act 2005. We represent clients before local authorities, as well as in the courts. We also work closely with other lawyers within the firm advising and assisting on licensing issues in relation to property and corporate-based transactions. Our clients range from individuals and small companies through to large retail chains in both the off- and on-licence trade. They include pub chain operators, retail chains, individual pubs, private members clubs, sports clubs, restaurants, hotels, holiday parks and amusement arcades. Contact: Tim Hayden |
