The insurance industry is still battling against a blame culture in the UK that shows no sign of abating with an increase in costs per claim, asbestos related disease, satellite litigation and spurious or fraudulent claims.

Claimant lawyers will continue to be innovative and according to the Association of British Insurers, research has revealed that the cost of bodily injury claims to UK insurers has risen at 9.9% per annum over the past decade. That’s nearly three times the rate of average earnings.

Recommended by both the Legal 500 and Chambers Directories for many years, the Insurance Department of Clarke Willmott provides a comprehensive nationwide service on employers' liability, road traffic accidents, product liability, professional indemnity, health and safety, public liability, industrial diseases, sports injuries, fire and disaster claims. We have particular expertise in acting for clients who are self-insured, or who have large deductibles, providing cost effective advice to dispose of claims as early as possible.

In our view, insurance law need not be a trial. Whilst we will continue to establish new case law to our clients’ advantage, our real successes have been the thousands of cases that we have successfully disposed of without the need for a trial.
